Books on St. Joseph

There are some really awesome books about St. Joseph!  The ones I have read the most are:
The Life of St. Joseph is a really awesome book about St. Joseph's life from birth until his death in the arms of Mary and Jesus.  It's source is a private revelation from God to a nun hundreds of years ago.   Private revelation does not have to be believed with the same faith that, say, the Gospels do, or the things we say in the Nicene Creed.  However, I believe that much if not all of what is written about St. Joseph in this book is true.  It increased my appreciation for St. Joseph tremendously, as it describes how amazing our Blessed Mother is and how majestic Jesus was even as a little boy.

St. Joseph was the head of the Holy Family, and in humility and submission to God's divine will, he gave commands to Mary and Jesus Himself.  Think about it:  God himself learned from St. Joseph's example, and Jesus called him "Father", and St. Joseph was privileged to call Jesus "Son".  We know that Jesus "was alike us in ALL ways except sin", so that means he learned everything from his father: how to be a gentleman, how to work, how to speak, just as sons learn from their fathers these things.  Have you ever noticed how sons are so much like their dads, even as little children?  You can see it wherever you go: to the store, to church, to sports games.  St. Joseph had to be blameless and holy as no man before him was in order to lead his Son into all goodness.  He could not have done this without the grace and power of God within him, and it was not lacking!  The Father poured out all of his love into St. Joseph's heart and soul, and St. Joseph emptied himself and opened up to this outpouring.

It is awesome to think that we can all be like St. Joseph, for the Father wants to give us the same powerful grace he gave to St. Joseph.  This book gives you insight into his interior life and will be a great blessing to you.

The Favorite Prayers to St. Joseph has a ton of cool prayers invoking St. Joseph's special intercession before God.  My favorites are: the Prayer of Purity, Prayer for Workmen, Consecration to St. Joseph, and the Litany of St. Joseph.  It is really cool because it also includes testimonials to St. Joseph's powerful prayers from other great saints like St. Teresa of Avila and St. Bridget of Sweden, who basically say: "Whatever your need is, St. Joseph can help you because God has given him patronage over his entire Church and all aspects of life."

You can buy these two books for about $12 total!  Believe me when I say, they are worth this modest investment.  St. Joseph is waiting to pray for you--all you have to do is ask.  Come and let him prove his fidelity to you, who was so faithful to Jesus and Mary.
