The ABCs of Choosing a Good Wife is a great book for men who are looking for their future wives. It gives good advice for what qualities to look for, and what to watch out for, as well as intelligent suggestions on how to court and be chaste in your relationship.
I have actually read this one and the one for women on choosing a good husband, so I could get the inside scoop on what good Catholic girls are looking for and strive for those virtues. The books are really mirror images of each other with a few specific details appropriate to the male versus female perspective.
Some of the ideas are common sense, but it’s good to read them and reaffirm them in your heart. The book is written from a generic “Christian” viewpoint ostensibly, but you don’t have to delve too far in to realize it is totally Catholic all the way, quoting from the Catechism and propounding Catholic beliefs on sexuality. Even so, Protestants would benefit from it and even non-Christians.
Now I just have to find the holy and beautiful girl that God has chosen for me!
