After the U2 concert on Friday night, Nathan, Robert, me, and the G drove an hour west to College Station, Texas, home of the fightin’ Texas Aggies to watch the football game against Iowa St.
Robert drove us in his car, and was much happier than he looked in this picture:
Nathan suffered me to take his picture in the back:
We passed by my favorite coffee shop when I was in school: the Coffee Station:
I met my dad at the game, along with his friend and his friend’s son and grandson. It was neat because I played soccer and went to school with their family, and they are always very kind to me.
I had bragged earlier about the Aggies’ inevitable victory over Iowa St., but as it turns out, the reverse happened and Iowa stomped the Aggies! I don’t really care too much, but it made the atmosphere a little less festive.
Being back at A&M felt great. There’s just a ton of good, solid people there–people who love Jesus Christ and our country. Being back there reminds me of how different Austin is. Though there are many wonderful, godly people here, too, there seem to be even more people who are lost and in need of God in their lives (When we were lost and could not find our way to You, You loved us more than ever).
After the game, I met up with Gerardo’s siblings, including his brother’s young family, and we ate at Gattiland and then drove back to Houston for the evening. We were all worn out from the long day, but we stayed up at night and chatted for a good while.
I’ll share more about our blessed day today with the Garcia clan on my next post.
