After the dinner party last night, I went over to hang out with Robert and the Kresses, who have not gotten to see him in many months. It was a joyful and rambunctious reunion–as it always is when Robert’s in town. :)

We met up at Chili’s and had some dinner:

(Big) Jeff and Jane:

Sam, Robert, and Alex:

Then we went back to the Kresses and hung out for a while, just chatting and torturing Nicky by tickling him:

After that everyone wanted to play “Jailbreak”, which is a hide-and-go-seek variant where the person seeking only has to see you and call out your name (rather than physically tag you) to put you in “jail”. Then when there are people trapped in jail, the remaining uncaught people have to try to break them out of jail by sneaking unseen into the jail area and yelling “jailbreak!” before they are caught themselves.

Jane always helps the seeker find people, since she gets scared of the dark by herself, and if she hides with another person, she eventually gets bored and gives away the spot by making noise and walking into the open! After a good hour of playing, we came back inside and played wrestle-war with the Kresses:

Alex:

Dogpile:

Sam is shy:

Finally, here was what I wore throughout the night, staying in costume from the murder mystery party, to Chili’s, and then over at the Kresses (I did button up the buttons once I got to Chili’s!).

It was very good, and Robert and I prayed a Hail Mary thanking God for the gift of friendship he has given us with the Kresses. This morning we got to go to Mass with them and took up most of a pew. Jane didn’t pay attention for the entire homily, but you know, sometimes it is hard to stay focused for so long.
