Â
I wear a medal of St. Joseph with the child Jesus around my neck each day, and today I ran into a coworker that I hadn’t seen in a long time, and we had this exchange:
Â
Coworker (leaning toward me to look at medal): “Whatcha got there? ”
Me: “Oh, it’s St. Joseph and Jesus. ”
Coworker: “Ah cool, Jesus and his dad.”
Me (surprised): “Yeah, exactly! ”
Â
I don’t know whether this man is even a Christian, so it was cool to hear him recognize St. Joseph as Jesus’ dad.
Â
Just to be theologically clear, we all know that St. Joseph was not Jesus’ “biological” father, as Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit in our Blessed Mother’s womb, but, in every other sense, St. Joseph was Jesus’ father.
Â
I have read in private revelation and believe that the child Jesus called St. Joseph “daddy” and gave St. Joseph the honor of calling him “son”.
