My dear girlfriend Katie has a really neat way of praying whenever something “bad” happens. She asks the Holy Spirit to “make it beautiful”.
 
Bad things happen to all of us on a regular basis–some not so bad, others very difficult–so this prayer is awesome because it acknowledges the reality that God has allowed it to happn and has truly willed it for our salvation.
 
The next time something bad does happen to you, something you don’t understand, something that frustrates you or makes you sad, ask our Lord to make it beautiful, and He will!
