I don’t know how many of you are watching the series on A&E, but thanks to the wonders of Richard’s Tivo, Devin and I have watched the first three episodes. It’s not perfect, but a pretty decent depiction of 4 guys discerning the priesthood. It’s actually quite humorous watching these guys go through this and at the same time it’s humbling. I ran into a comment responding to some criticism of the young men that was pretty funny:
 
Reading all these comments made me wonder about the 2000 year old reality show called “Jesus Picks the 12 Apostles”….
 
I hate to think of all the criticism we would have for all 12 of the poor guys who qualified for the show.
 
“Peter leaving his boat on the shore to follow Jesus? What theatrics! How immature!
 
“hey, isn’t he a fundamentalist terrorist??”
 
“the guy is a dishonest tax collector.”
 
“Thomas still has his doubts…”
 
“John is WAY too young for this.”
