Â
Devin and I will wed in a little under three months, please God. We have both journeyed long and far to reach this doorstep of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. We have waited, hoping against hope at times, to give the total gift of ourselves to the other who is “flesh of our flesh and bone of our bones.”
Â
All praise be to Our Lord, who has accomplished this great work. I’m feeling especially grateful this morning for the blessed brothers and sisters in Christ who prepared Devin and me for each other. In particular, I’m so grateful to Devin’s previous Catholic girlfriend, who introduced him to St. Joseph and the Theology of the Body. She, my sister in Christ, was such an instrument of grace for him and, thus, for our forthcoming family. In the same manner, I’m grateful to my previous Catholic boyfriend, who through his friendship and faith encouraged me to mature deeply. It will be so fun to enjoy heaven together and laugh at our shared adventures in seeking God’s path!
Â
When those relationships ended, Devin and I both felt lost and far from the will of God. And, now, we see. And, we’re so grateful. In the words of one of my favorite Rascal Flatts songs, “God blessed the broken road, that led me straight to you.” YKC!

Dear Katie & Devin,
I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your success story on
Ave Maria Singles and reading your blog. You have encouraged me so
much and given me hope that maybe someday I will be blessed to marry
in the Sacrament of Marriage and be a holy Catholic wife and mom too!
But even though I am almost forty (my birthday is Aug. 2nd), there is
still so much I need to learn about that vocation! My favorite devotion
is the rosary and every day I pray asking Jesus, the Blessed Mother, and
St. Joseph to please help me find the man God has chosen to be my spouse,
to please give me the graces I need for my state in life, to please help
me to wait and be patient, and if it’s God’s will for me to marry and
have children then please give me (and my future husband) the graces we
will need to be good and holy Catholic spouses and parents! Every day this
is my prayer and I encourage other Catholic singles to do the same! Praying
the rosary has given me such peace and has really helped me wait and to
be patient!
It is very obvious to me that God, the Blessed Mother, and St. Joseph has
brought you two together. To thank you for the hope and encouragement you
have given me as well as other singles, I would like to as a wedding gift
to you, to pray the rosary for you, your engagement, future marriage, and
family life.
I am pretty sure you two already know this, but always remember “The
family that prays together, stays together!” Please know that I will
be praying the rosary for you too.
P.S. I really hope you don’t mind my sending you these rather long
messages in your blog?
Thank you so much again!
May God Bless you, dear Katie and Devin!
Love,
Maria In Mass
