“…where my thoughts escapin’–Home,
where my music’s playin’–Home,
where my love lies waitin’, silently for me”

That one’s for my mom, who likes Simon and Garfunkel a lot. :)

Katie and I closed on our house yesterday! It went great–the sellers actually settled at the same time, so we got to meet them and get to know them.

They told us how an investor put in an offer before we did on the house (the day it was listed, apparently, since ours was put in just the day after it was listed), and when we came in with our offer, the investor matched it or exceeded it, but the sellers told us that they rejected the investor’s offer, even knowing he would probably outbid us, because they wanted a young married couple to have the house as their home.

Then they told us how their insurance did not pay for the new roof entirely that they had put on the house, so they paid some of it out of their own pocket, an amazingly generous gesture in this world where money is so often put ahead of people.

So Katie and I both know that our Lord blessed us with this house, our first home, please God! Our novena to St. Joseph paid off big time–thanks St. Joseph.
