My friend at work, Jonathan, just got a new computer, with a dual-core processor, large flat panel monitor, and a good video card, and he ran my Abound Screensaver, maxing out the number of active balls at 100 with no drop in frame rate!

I have never seen a computer that could handle that many balls until today, and it was truly mesmerizing to watch that many balls bouncing off each other and around black holes. The After Dark “Marbles” screensaver creator would be proud!

Devin Shawn Rose changed my tire today. He left work and drove to the HEB where the poor Volvo was parked, with its poor sad tire. He sweated in the midday sun, on the blistering blacktop of the parking lot. He patiently manipulated the foreign car parts on my wheel, expertly removing the low tire (with a nail in it) and putting the doughnut tire on it its place.

It feels so good to have Devin take care of me! I love you, sweetie. Thanks, Father, for a man like Devin. YKC!

Jesus fasted and prayed for 40 days before beginning his ministry. The Israelites wandered for 40 years in the desert. Katie and Devin will wed in 40 days. Just 40.

We’ve entered our Lent, our desert, in which we will prepare for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony with prayer and fasting. I am so deeply joyful, even as I tremble with holy fear. Lord, make us one in you. YKC!

My dear mother is en route from St. Louis, Missouri to Austin right now! She is driving her Honda CRV and two very upset cats (Merry and Pippin) along IH-35, with all of her furniture and things already moved into her house down here.

She’s been longing to move back home for long years, and now she is finally getting to, and we are all so excited for her return. We are going to eat pizza tonight and drink some wine to celebrate her homecoming.

Additionally, Roxy, Gerardo’s fiancee, has moved to Austin recently! She and Katie have gotten to spend time together, and it is really awesome because of me and Gerardo’s friendship–now these two women who are the heart of our lives are growing in friendship. Jesus is very, very good, beyond all imagination.

“…the years passed by and now they had 10 daughters…”
–modified from Paula Cole’s “I Don’t Want To Wait” where she says “the years passed by and now they had granddaughters”

I modified the lyrics above because the song jumps too quickly from this couple only having two children to them having grandchildren, and it has led me to dream of what it would be like to have 10 daughters–10 little princesses whom I would rear with Katie to be princesses of Heaven. more…

I had an interesting phone exchange yesterday. I was visiting with an acquaintance about my current homemaking in the future Rose residence here on Turtleback Lane, and she mentioned that she subscribes to principles of fung shui in her home decorating, because of the way that “they promote positive energy in a room.”

Energy? Hmm. more…

“…you are busy about so many things–only one matters.” Clearly, Jesus had an inkling about wedding planning in the 21st century, when he offered that gentle chiding to Martha. Because, I’ve been tempted to Martha-ish behavior this week. more…

I have begun work again on my Real Time Strategy (RTS) game, Crescendo!

This game is one I am programming myself and plan to sell one day through my website. You can view all posts in the Technical category link found on the left side of the screen if you missed exciting Crescendo development posts from the past. :)

I have intended to work on Crescendo over the past several months, but usually never got around to it. There was usually something more important or more fun to be doing, whether hanging out with roommates playing Nintendo, or spending time with Katie, or working on our future home together.
