Howdy, friends!

Katie and I have been given the honor of starting Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration (PEA) at our parish, St. Louis.  It has been a challenge for me especially, so I would like to ask that you say a prayer that God will start PEA at St. Louis for his glory.

It has been a challenge because I have helped coordinate adoration for the past 4 years (5 days per week, roughly 7 am to 6 pm each day), but we have just enough adorers to cover one per hour, and when someone can’t come anymore, it leaves a hole that is difficult to fill.

It causes the adorers who have a hole after their hour much anxiety to leave the Blessed Sacrament unadored, and it does the same for me as the scheduler because I am partly responsible for it.  :(

So after these four years, I am quite downhearted about adoration, not because I don’t love Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament–I do and want to continue going to adoration for the rest of my life–but because of the practical problems with not having enough parishioners willing to give one hour per week to adore him.

I long for everyone at our parish (and every Catholic in the world) to believe and love Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, so I am hopeful that God will work miracles to start Perpetual Adoration at St. Louis, but I struggle with the fear that not enough people will respond and sign up for it.

Katie has been a big encouragement to me in this, as have the Kresses, whom have led the coordination of adoration at St. Louis for a good decade, and who are now handing it over to me and Katie.

The priest’s name who is going the mission homilies during our kick-off weekend is Father Larry Villone from the Missionaries of the Blessed Sacrament, and he is coming February 10th and 11th.  Thank you for praying for us!
