Katie and I returned from our Panhandle vacation yesterday, and boy did we have a great time!

We joined my mom and made the 10-hour drive to Sunray, Texas.  We have much to tell about and some pictures, so in a day or two I will post more about it.

One story will have to suffice for now:  Katie was prophetic about hearing the coyotes as we were awoken Sunday morning at about 7 am to a loud gunshot, and then another–it was my Uncle Rusty killing a coyote that was lurking around the pasture where the young cattle he just bought were grazing.

Lesson learned: Don’t mess with my Uncle Rusty!  He spent the last 20 years as a federal marshal guarding nuclear weapons and other sensitive shipments around the United States, and before that he was a police officer.  Oh yeah, he’s a dead-eye!
