Name That Nintendo Video Game
Posted by Devman under Entertainment
I just thought of an exciting new feature to introduce to the Vanguard: Name that Book/Movie/Video Game. I give you a (potentially cryptic) quote from one of the above items and you tell me and the other readers the book title/movie or game name.
Our inaugural edition will be from the original 8-bit Nintendo (NES) series (e.g. Super Mario Bros.):
“They say his father was a great magician in India–don’t be charmed by his magic punches!”
Name that video game.

Mike Tyson’s Punchout–Mr. Sandman.

Quinn, I had no idea you played old video games! Well done, however, you are 50% right.
Mr. Sandman, as is only slightly less well known than the land war in Asia thing, hailed from Philadelphia and was not Indian.
Other guesses about who the boxer in Mike Tyson’s Punchout was?

I’m going with the Great Tiger. But don’t be too impressed; I used a search engine to find out. I was more of a Zelda girl (and I was only able to rarely play that at a friend’s house).

“Land war in Asia”? Yes! A “Princess Bride” quote makes the blog.

Amy, that is correct, though yes, using Google is a bit cheating. Next time I will explain the rules and have to come up with an even more obscure quote!
Great job Quinn and Amy!
