Oh, Maternity Clothes

How comfortable you are.  With your big elastic waists and ample stretch, you make my baby tummy very happy.

So happy

So happy

Special thanks to Mrs. Garcia, who made this delight possible with her box of maternity clothes offered this past Tuesday.  I have been denying myself the comfort of maternity clothes, priding myself that I would not need them for at least another few weeks.  I know I’m silly but I’m a product of American culture which tells a girl she should have as small a belly as possible at all times, even when eighteen weeks pregnant.

But, now I am embracing the fact that I have a very growing tummy and am glad that I can actually breathe again.  Elastic waistbands.   The genius of it all.

Katie, I too was weary about wearing maternity clothes. But I just loved them! I only hope I get to wear them again!

Katie, you’re welcome! I am glad you decided to try them and that you liked them!

I heard your message yesterday, thanks for calling. I hope to see you soon wearing maternity clothes, you’re belly must look really cute. yay!

  3. Therese says:

oh I love maternity clothes. I am just 13 weeks at the moment and cannot wait for the bulge to be big enough to wear them again. Of course, by the end of the pregnancy, I will be sick to death of wearing the same outfits and be excited about wearing ‘normal clothes’ again.

Katie, my hubby is taking me to a “Day With Mary” retreat at our local Catholic church tomorrow as a birthday gift (I will be forty three on Sunday! Wheeee! LOL!) and I will be praying for you, Devin, the baby, and the boys.

I bet you will look really cute in your new maternity clothes! Any chance you can post a few photos?

May God Bless your beautiful family!

P.S. Did you recieve a special blessing from your Priest to help you be able to concieve? Did diet and exercise help you be able to concieve? Just wondering! I have managed to lose about thirty pounds since last year on the advice of my endometriosis/infertility napro doctor. However I’m still having some difficultly not drinking soda and eating sugar. I think I’m addicted. They tested me though and told me they don’t think I have PCOS though. I think sugar is my biggest downfall. Do you take any special vitamins? Pre-natal vitamins?

When you get a chance, I’d love to hear from you! I know you are a very busy lady with two adorable toddlers and one precious baby on the way! You are so blessed! I think you are such a wonderful wife and Mommy! I wish I could be more like you!! Hugs!

    Love,
    Maria

  5. My wife is looking for designer maternity clothes. Please suggest online portals to buy them.

  6. I forgot to mention, she is in her 16th week and right now trying not very cool maternity stuffs.

  7. Katie says:

    Dear Maria,

I only just read your comment today, so I’m sorry I’m getting back to you so late. With regard to preparing to conceive, I did nothing but mother two very active boys. I was eating healthily, of course, because I watch my sugar very carefully with my insulin issues, but Devin and I had given up trying, so I was doing nothing special at all.

And, dear Maternity Clothes, I have not done any shopping of my own, yet, so the clothes that I am borrowing from a friend are mostly the three following brands–Liz Lange, Motherhood Maternity, and Old Navy. I hope this helps.
