Catholic Dads on Tap: Creedless Christianity

Brent and I pontificate on Protestant churches that dismiss the need for Creeds, claiming them to be outdated and the “old” way that God worked.

Lightning apologetics round on celibacy for the Kingdom, then a short segment on what to expect from a parish and it’s RCIA program.

A really dear friend told me that he holds to no creed of Christianity but still claims to be Christian. He is Christian, but he doesn’t realize how self-refuting his statement is. Whether the Protestant community likes it or not, they have a creed.

My pastor likens the use of Creeds to the giving and use of greeting cards.

They convey exactly how we believe, without our having to fumble around and come up with it off the top of our heads.

And it keeps us grounded in the true faith, which is Christ Jesus and His gospel.

I LOVE THAT QUOTE from Brent where he says “Let’s say you’re a Protestant who wants to reform the church today: which church would you put up the 95 thesis at?”
    LOL!

That reminds me of another quote I saw elsewhere: If 10,000 denominations is the reality, then the very notion of “reformation” cannot be true.

    Great podcast, gentlemen.
