New Music: David Thies’ Hymns of Hope

I am excited to tell you about the latest album just released by my good friend David Thies!

Dave is a singer-songwriter who writes all his own music. He’s talented on the acoustic guitar, and his music could be described as Christian folk.

My wife and I have enjoyed listening to his CDs for years. They’ve actually become a sort of soundtrack of our marriage, and any given song of his will bring back memories from the time when we first were listening to it. Very cool.

This album is Dave’s most polished…and most positive. Not “positive” in the saccharine sweet way like some songs you hear on contemporary Christian music stations are, but positive in a deeply good and hopeful kind of way.

It’s also the perfect album to get introduced to Dave’s work, because in addition to including all new songs, he reprises some gems from older albums, giving them a completely new treatment.

Head over to iTunes and give a listen to the first three songs of Hymns of Hope: Life is Beautiful, Phoenix, and One Beautiful Journey. I think you’ll enjoy them.
